Drawing has always been the main focus and most used media throughout my years of exploration as a student and artist, and my work is now naturalistic in approach. Growing up in the hills of the Scottish Borders was a huge influence to my practice, the rhythm of the seasons and delicate balance in nature is where the core of my interests developed.

The natural world offers endless inspiration, from intricate structures to wide spaces and large forms. Character is found in the seeds and trees as much as the animals that live in them and I use strength of line, mark making and space to create setting and atmosphere. It is a simple, straightforward approach to things that are all too often overlooked.
